When we launched Design Instruct a little over 2 years ago, we had one goal in mind: to publish top quality creative content for artists so that they may do great things with their talent and creativity. Our tutorials were just the beginning.
We love typography here at Design Instruct and we’re always glad to see the new ideas artists are working on. Here’s just a few pieces that caught our eye.
Over the last month or so, we’ve been working hard putting together an amazing collection of tutorials to be made available for download here on Design Instruct. The most beautiful, most loved, and most informative tutorials we’ve published will now be available in 2 volumes in various eBook formats so you can read and learn anywhere.
We all have experience with competition. We look at our peers’ work and we evaluate if we’re better or if they’re better and then we act accordingly. Competition is good because it forces any self-respecting creative professional to always sharpen their creative edge which is ultimately great for the creative industries in general because we’ll always be producing better and better work.
Ah yes. Lightroom presets. They are a great way to make your photography workflow faster and more consistent. I’ve always loved illustrators and the work they do. Illustrations are the perfect blend of the artist’s conception and their technical skill to create a wholly unique piece of work. There’s a certain purity about illustration that I can’t help but admire. In fact, whenever I look at the work of tremendously talented illustrators, I always get the urge to reach for my sketchbook and start something of my own.
The creative industry is built on a finite resource: Time. We can talk about the spontaneity of creativity. We can talk about talented individuals. We can celebrate the greatness and the importance of creative work. However, at the end of the day, there’s no denying that creative work is still work with a set of demands and expectations. And most importantly: deadlines and deliverables.
