Posters play a vital role in marketing and publicizing a movie or an event. In this Photoshop graphic design tutorial, we will be designing a science fiction (sci-fi) inspired movie poster while exploring–and taking advantage of–a few new features in Adobe Photoshop CS5 that will not only save us time, but will also give us awesomely stunning results.
In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial, we are going to go over a method for composing a beautiful matte painting style scene. Matte paintings are typically used in movies to create expensive or surreal landscapes and scenes that are stitched together with regular footage. Note that we are not actually making a matte painting that would be suitable to use in a Hollywood film, but rather, composing a scene inspired by these great matte painters and film technicians.
Vector graphics design is one of the leading styles for print magazines and in titling of movies right now. In this tutorial, we are going to cover the entire body of a woman with stock vector art by employing some of the basic tools and blending options in Adobe Photoshop. We will also need Adobe Illustrator to open the vector files and to provide a source for importing the vectors into Photoshop.
