I could have used only Photoshop or Illustrator to create the 3D text. However, it is much easier to do with Cinema 4D and the result is more professional. I know that many readers of Design Instruct don’t have Cinema 4D, but there were some who asked for more C4D tutorials in the previous tutorial I published here.

For those of you who don’t have C4D, you can download the .psd file of this tutorial, move the layer that contains the 3D text into your own Photoshop document and read the tutorial from Step 13 (from that step until the end of the tutorial everything is done only in Photoshop).

it does take a little more work than c4d but the effect is just as potent, I think.

Although, I would have to agree that some if not all of these effects could be probably achieved using Photoshop or Illustrator. Great job blending it all together though, it definitely feels cohesive!
