Magical things can happen when you take everyday office items and you apply a healthy dose of imagination and skill. Just ask David Perez who creates hyper-expressive portraits using only ballpoint pens.

David Perez is from Bogota, Colombia. His portraits feature people with exaggerated facial expressions sometimes bordering on the surreal.

His crosshatching techniques make his portraits look almost like etchings, adding a level of depth to them that’s hard to accomplish in a flat medium. His signature art style is a unique display of skill that makes his drawings so captivating.

Check out some of David Perez’s more recent portraits. We think you’ll enjoy these!
