Wood Grain: Texture Pack
"Do you respect wood?" Larry David asked on the show Curb Your Enthusiasm. Yes, Mr. David, at Design Instruct, we certainly respect our woods, and to show just how much we respect our woods, we’re sharing these beautiful wood grain textures with you. This texture pack includes 6 high-resolution textures for you to use in your personal and commercial projects. As always, all images are free, however, please don’t sell or redistribute the source files without our permission.

These are horrible. Next time at least set up proper lighting and light up all the portions equally.

I don’t know if they’re exactly “horrible.” I mean, at the very least, they’re usable for a few applications if I may disagree with you.
But you’re right, next time i take pictures of a random street pole in the middle of the day, during the humid summer months, i’ll make sure to bring my soft boxes and my modelling lamps and my studio lights, and my light meters, so you guys can have evenly lit textures provided to you FOR FREE.

Thanks, Isaac. I’ve always loved working with wood. I’m in the process of building a family website and I never thought of it involving wood but your photos gave me an idea. I think I’ll slice up parts to make frames for some of the vintage photos to be included on the family website. I think the flaws pointed out by Mr. Rayne will work to my advantage as I’m just going to be using parts as one would when actually working with wood. Now I can pick the areas with the wood grain and lighting that best works for each frame.
