We are a medium sized nonprofit with a mission to develop, connect and inspire diverse leaders to build strong and vibrant communities throughout Greater Hartford. We are considering redesigning our business cards to make them “pop” more. This would provide an opportunity to do so. Our program directors go through about 500 cards every 3-4 months.

Business cards are essential for one-on-one social networking and lead generation. I enjoy giving them out and receiving them in return and keep a file. Also, the information on the cards must be correct…unlike the details of this giveaway which says it expires on “Tuesday, August 27th, 2011″…

If I had a Delorean I would go back in time and enter this contest before it ended. (In the description: “This giveaway ends on Tuesday, August 27, 2011″).
If I had 1000 business cards they would help me to feel professional when I promote myself. I’m a young graphic designer starting out, and am now trying to land a job. These business cards would certainly help me do so. Or at least make a good conversation starter when they see me building house of cards.

I work in a beautifully historic hotel/restaurant with private owners. Their business does exceptionally well considering that they have virtually no advertising or self-promo plan. I’d love to volunteer my design skills to help the owners of my rest. build their modest company and expand business.

As a young freelancing designer, business cards mean a great deal in getting business when you have them to give to anyone you meet that is potentially interested in needing any kind of design service. They serve as a reminder to that person when they get home and find that card they stuck in their wallet and make the difference in possibly getting a project and just being a forgotten person they met during the day. These business cards would provide me with a professional appeal and tool to keep my name on any potential clients minds.

I like al the poetic reply’s of the people above.
“i want to connect to a lot of people” – no, that’s what you do already.
A business card is just to blow them away. BANG!
And a few hours after you have met, they take your card and look at it. When they visit your website or connect to you at LinkedIn after all, you know you have a good business card.
so now my real answer on the question:
A business card helps me to impress, to show off. And above all, to give that perfect first impression a nice finishing touch.

In my field, business cards are vital given the number of peers and clients I interact with on a day to day basis. As many different people as I talk to about potential deals, they make it easy to pass around contact info in a simple and concise format.
You can also tell a lot about the people you’re dealing with by the effort they put into their business cards.

We can’t remember things for very long after the first time hearing about them. Business cards would help by not only reminding the receiver with the business info/name is but the object alone will remind them about the business itself. It would help my online store by generating more traffic and hopefully sales. Once they have the information they can then pass it along to someone else if they wish. I like recycling business cards this way. :)

I am a graphic designer/illustrator, particularly interested in doing branding and re-branding. I am willing to find clients who require my skills and like my style of work.
Business cards are the perfect self-promotion tool for a print designer, interested in branding as not only they have my contact details, but also demonstrate the skills I want to promote.

I attend a lot of in-person conventions and gatherings (old fashioned, I know) but like the old United commercial, when business is tight, there is nothing like flying in and shaking someone’s hand and giving them a card. Long live printed design!

As a freshly graduated graphic designer, I’m still refining my personal brand. How do I want to leave an impression on people I meet? What is the impression that I want to leave with them? Yes, I am still searching for a “real” design job. But at the end of the day, what’s MOST important is that if this is the first, last, and only time I meet this person, what do I want to leave with them? It’s more than just my name, number, email. I want to leave inspiration, hope, joy through my personal interaction with them. I want my words and actions towards them — a smile, a kind deed, an encouraging word — to make their day. I know it’s not something that simply a business card can achieve on its own, but being able to give out tangible business cards will help me to achieve that goal. Perhaps after a few days or a few years they’ll pick up this business card, think back, and remember me, and hopefully I would have made a positive impact

Business Cards would help me tremendously as I transition my photography business to also include graphic design! I need my brand to stand out and impact potential clients with a beautiful example like my own business card! At the moment I am printing my own cards as I need them…not the most efficient or professional way :/ My business relies on relationships and connections more than anything, so business cards are a must!
Thank you for the chance to win some!

Business cards are something that we take for granted when we shouldn’t. The look, feel, and message on a card help people determine how they view you and more importantly, if they will even remember you.

Business cards are essential when it comes to networking and getting your name out there. If anyone is like me, I remember faces, but names are always a struggle! Having a business card makes it easy to refer back to, not to mention it gives your potential clients a sneak peak into your style and personality (if you take the time to incorporate it into your business card design!)

I’ve recently joined my local Chamber of Commerce and a networking group. I’ve been attending many networking events to help garner some business connections, and business cards go very fast! This is a good problem to have, but it has also made me think about updating the design. Having two-sided cards would allow me to advertise both of my businesses side by side (pardon the pun). You never know where you might find new referral business and my two companies are on opposite sides of the business world.

This business cards would help me in sharing my work with all the other people who need design, I could get more jobs and on this way people would actually know for me. As a young graphic design student I don’t have much money to spend on all the promotional material that I need, in the past few years I had few exhibitions and I couldn’t find the money to print everything that I need to promote my work, so this would be a great opportunity!

I began freelancing as a student, and now 4 years later I have began full time. Things are still slow, but I just got my first really big contract, re-branding a business. When I get back home from completing it, I am relaunching my website with my own re-branding. (http://heart-r.net)
Business cards are an essential marketing tool, and they would help me reach a wider market, giving me the opportunity to share my recent successes and continue to build my business. In short, it would help me continue to support myself doing something I love.
Good luck everyone :D
