nothing is missing there. I’m sorry if image where it says “text layer hidden” is confused you. It only shows how below layer looks (I just turn of visibility of text layer).

Hi! I have a question, between the steps of
“Again, Cmd-click/Ctrl-click on the text layer’s thumbnail to load a selection, then go to Select > Modify > Expand Selection and expand it by 1px.”

and

“Hit the Backspace key to delete the selected areas.”

is there a step missing? because I cant do the effect of hiding the text.

Good tutorial! The outcome looks nice – especially the textures and the sunglasses. The only thing that I might have done differently is the hair on the left – it should continue above the glasses, it looks a bit indented and cut off, but other than that it’s lookin’ good!
