Awesome tut - my eyes have been opened to so many things in PS. As I don't have PS extended, Illustrator nor Cinema 4D, I made use of individual letters in MS Word wordart... needs must when..........
Will be hanging on to this tut for a long while yet, oh yes!
Thank you Jacob. :)

Great tut! I expected something different in the source files. There is only the finished files in it.. could't you at least put the TIFF in there as well? Thanks and good job!

@Chakib Tsouli Great suggestion, that's a good option if you have CS4 extended and don't have access to Cinema 4D (or want to keep your workflow strictly inside the CS4 Creative Suite).

The 3D tools in Illustrator can probably help you come close. Be sure to let us know how it works out for you, we'd love to see your final result!

Great tutorial. Alternatively, I may still be able to create the letters in Illustrator, as the Cinema 4D is a bit overwhelming.

Taufik,

You might be able to create each letter as a different layer and and lower its opacity to like 40%. Thank you could place individual drop shadows on the letters with different angles, using the same color as the objects. The different angles could be arranged to give the illusion of a 3d Object. The drop shadow blend mode would have to be normal on those, or maybe an overlay would work, with like a 40-50% opacity as well. Won't look perfect, but it might be enough to fake it.
Hope that helps a bit.
