Inspiration: 40 Web Designs That Use Textures Masterfully
Using textures enables you to create a sense of tactility in your designs. In addition, textures can be used to make the design look more elaborate and artistic, and is therefore a promising design element that can set your web layout apart from the crowd. To follow up on Jan Cavan’s tutorial on making a beautiful textured layout, I’d like to share with you some inspirational web designs that incorporate a similar theme of using textures for enhancing your projects.

Coopers kids? nykevanwyk? Seriously? There’s nothing masterful about the use of texture on those. Circa and m1k3, on the other hand, they’re in a different league!
Also, it would be nice to link up the images in the post, it’s kind of expected behaviour :)

Some of these are better than others, but there’s a really nice variety here. I believe that texture in both print and web can add much more depth to your work. My personal favorites would have to be: Hugs For Monsters, The Ship and The Sea, Dan Conaway, StockdeRock, and Midtsommerjazz 2010. To me these really stand out a bit above the rest. Circa is cool too – the background has a nice watercolor feel to it which I really like.
For Paul – the links to the pages are the titles, rather than the images. I know some sites use the images as direct links but at least there is some way to check out the pages directly.

The majority of these are brilliant, the javascript is excellent! I think it would be better if the link opened in a new window, so you don’t have to scroll down to the place you were!

Great point Owen. I agree with you. Anyone else out there feel the same?

That’s a good call. I think setting the target to blank would be better also. Although…depending on what browser you use, when you return to this page after going to one of the links it should take you back to the same spot on the page where you were – I’m using Firefox though, not sure how it is with Safari or IE.

This is a very nice collection indeed, i’m sure to get some inspiration from this.
Here’s a design I made for a website this year:

The owner wanted a luxurious and delicate touch for her massage salon.
All the work was done in Photoshop of course, but I must say it was one of the first times i really used textures.
